about
Originally a one-day only release in the summer of 2020, this special version of “Boyfriend” had all proceeds from that day benefit The Trevor Project, a nonprofit supporting LGBTQ+ youth. The fundraiser portion of this released has now ended. Thanks to everyone who helped us raise money for The Trevor Project!
The story goes like this: last year, the internet informed me that this song is considered a bit of an anthem to a lot of people in the LGBTQ+ community. The original song is about me pining over a boy in an incredibly unhealthy way and because of this, I’ve grown to really dislike the song and also performing it. Finding out it had a different meaning to the queer community excited me and I wanted to find a fun way to give back. So, we went over to our dear pal Carlos de la Garza’s house and recorded this inclusive version of “Boyfriend.”
Hope you listen to it this summer with your boo or whoever you wish was your boo.

Incredibly well-curated collection of covers. All the songs have that signature Soccer Mommy feel without straying too far from the source material. Wonderful! parsley-parcel
